Administrative: Changde City currently governs Wuling District, Dingcheng District, Anxiang County, Hanshou County, Lixian County, Linli County, Taoyuan County, Shimen County, and manages Jinshi City. There are 43 streets, 126 townships, 1501 established villages, and 762 community committees.
Changde is located in the western part of Dongting Lake, with a total area of 18200 square kilometers and a total population of 6 million, making it the third largest city in Hunan Province.
The eastern part of Changde is the open Dongting Lake Plain, surrounded by mountains on the northwest, west, and south sides. The terrain is mainly plain, with mountains, hills, hills, and lakes. Its terrain slopes from west to east, with diverse types of landforms. The remaining branches of Xuefeng Mountain in Changde extend to the south, the Wuling Mountains stretch to the northwest, and the Yuan and Li rivers run through the entire area from west to east.
