Liuye Lake Tourist Resort

Liuye Lake is located in the northeast of the ancient city of Changde. It is an ecological urban tourism and leisure resort in Hunan Province that integrates mountains, water, and city. It is named after the shape of the lake resembling Liuye, with Baihe Mountain, Huashan Mountain, and Taiyang Mountain surrounding the northern part of the lake. Baihe Mountain was a habitat for white cranes a long time ago. Every year from May to September, thousands of white cranes and egrets dance gracefully in the blue sky and water, adding a beautiful color to Liuye Lake. Liuye Lake and mountains are surrounded by water, with flowing rosy clouds and smoke, creating a pleasant scenery. The blue water blends with the long sky, and the green mountains and ancient city complement each other. The Sun Mountain by the Willow Leaf Lake is characterized by layers of peaks, lush pine and bamboo forests, winding streams, and murmuring springs. The Flower Mountain in the southwest of Liuye Lake, although not high, is very beautiful. Every spring, the mountain is filled with azaleas, colorful and vibrant, creating a bright world. The beautiful legend of Liu Hai chopping wood happened here. Liuye Lake has a vast water area and a flat bottom, making it an ideal venue for water sports competitions. An international level water sports arena has been built; Successfully held a series of major international and domestic events, including the water competition of the 8th National Games in Hunan Province, the 8th Asian Canoe Championships, and the first China Short Track Car Rally. It has been praised by international and domestic people as "one of the world's best natural water sports venues" and "a water paradise embraced by cities".
