Jiangmen Transportation


Jiangmen sits at the nexus of the east and west of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, approximately 100 kilometers away from the two leading economic zones, the Guangzhou-Foshan Metropolitan Area and the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Economic Circle. With the completion and opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link and the Huangmaohai Cross-Sea Link in 2024, travel time between Jiangmen and Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao will be reduced to less than one hour.

In 2024, Jiangmen's land and water freight volume reached 163.82 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.9%; freight turnover reached 14.305 billion ton-kilometers, a decrease of 7.9%. Land and water passenger volume reached 9.86 million, a decrease of 12.9%; and passenger turnover reached 707 million person-kilometers, a decrease of 14.6%. Port cargo throughput reached 93.75 million tons, a decrease of 9.4%.

Railways: Jiangmen is a comprehensive transportation hub in western Pearl River Delta. Jiangmen Station is Guangdong's fourth-largest railway station, offering eight platforms and 20 train lines, providing direct connections to cities including Beijing, Hong Kong, Wuhan, and Zhengzhou. Jiangmen North Station, Jiangmen South Station, and Dahuai Station serve as freight stations. By the end of 2024, Jiangmen's total operating railway mileage will reach 220 kilometers.
