Jiangmen Climate

Jiangmen City has a subtropical monsoon climate. The northeast monsoon prevails in winter, while the southwest monsoon prevails in summer, with spring and autumn marking the transition seasons. Winters are short and summers are long, creating a pleasant climate with abundant rainfall and abundant sunshine. The frost-free period lasts for over 360 days, and there is no snow year-round. The regional climate is divided into three levels: cool mountainous zone, warm hilly zone, and warm coastal zone.

Jiangmen City is moderated by the maritime monsoon, resulting in a mild and rainy climate with distinct winter and summer periods. Strong solar radiation provides abundant thermal resources. Annual accumulated temperatures exceeding 10°C exceed 8,000°C, and accumulated temperatures exceeding 15°C exceed 6,000°C. The average daily temperature in early March is stable at 12°C. Interannual temperature fluctuations are minimal. The average annual temperature is around 22°C across all regions, with slightly higher temperatures on Shangchuan Island. Temperatures exhibit significant seasonal variations, with a difference of 14-15°C between the coldest month (January) and the warmest month (July). From late March to early April each year, warm, moist air from the south strengthens and pushes northward, causing temperatures to rise significantly, reaching their peak in July. Starting in November, cold, dry air from the north continuously invades the south, and the local area is controlled by a cold high-pressure ridge, causing temperatures to drop significantly.
