Yinchuan is an important node city in the Silk Road Economic Belt. As of March 2021, the third phase of the expansion project of Yinchuan Hedong Airport was completed, adding 10 domestic flight routes, including Huizhou. The airport's capacity has been continuously improved, with passenger throughput reaching 10.575 million, successfully entering the ranks of "ten-million-level" airports. The first "Belt and Road" international truck train was launched, and the China-Europe Railway Express and the Yinchuan-Tianjin Port Western Express train began regular operation. The Yinchuan-Weihai sea-rail intermodal container train service was also launched. By 2024, the Yinchuan-Xi'an High-speed Railway and the Yinchuan-Lanzhou High-speed Railway will be fully operational within Ningxia; the urban built-up area will form an "eight horizontal and eighteen vertical" main road network. The city has Yinchuan Station, Yinchuan East Station, and Yinchuan Hedong International Airport.
Yinchuan Hedong International Airport is located southeast of Yinchuan city, approximately 19 kilometers from the city center. It is bordered by the Yellow River and the Yinkun Expressway to the west, the Yinchuan Comprehensive Bonded Zone to the south, the Hengshan Industrial Park of the Yinchuan Riverside New Area to the north, and the Lingwu Baijitan National Nature Reserve to the east. It is a 4E-class civil international airport, a regional hub airport, and a member of the Northwest Airport Cluster. Construction began in 1995, and it officially opened to traffic on September 6, 1997. The airport covers an area of over 8,600 mu (approximately 500 hectares) at an altitude of 1,100 meters. It is a domestic trunk airport. The airport's flight area is classified as 4E, with a runway 3,600 meters long and 45 meters wide, capable of accommodating all aircraft types except for the world's largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380 and the Boeing B747-800. In 2023, Yinchuan's civil aviation passenger volume reached 3.6625 million, an increase of 111.2% over the previous year; civil aviation passenger turnover reached 552.532 million passenger-kilometers, an increase of 109.9%; civil aviation cargo and mail volume reached 21,900 tons, an increase of 53.1%; and civil aviation cargo and mail turnover reached 35.0174 million ton-kilometers, an increase of 50.2%.

Yinchuan Railway Station, located in Jinfeng District, Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China, is a first-class station under the jurisdiction of China Railway Lanzhou Group Co., Ltd. It connects to the following lines: Baotou-Lanzhou Railway, Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway Yinchuan-Baoding Branch Line (Yinchuan-Baoding Railway), Taiyuan-Zhongwei-Yinchuan Railway, Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway, Yinchuan-Xi'an High-Speed Railway, and Yinchuan-Lanzhou High-Speed Railway (shared line).
Construction of Yinchuan Station began in 1958; the new Yinchuan Station officially opened on July 27, 1988; the renovation project of Yinchuan Station commenced on February 27, 2009; the new Yinchuan Railway Station opened for operation on December 15, 2011; the renovation of the conventional train yard at Yinchuan Station was successfully completed on October 17, 2018; the first high-speed train from Yinchuan to Wuwei East departed at 7:50 AM on June 29, 2024; and direct high-speed trains from Yinchuan to Chongqing began operation on July 1, 2025.
