Yinchuan Climate

Yinchuan City is located in the inland northwest of China and has a typical mid-latitude continental climate. Its main characteristics include dryness, strong evaporation, abundant sunshine, cold winters with little snow, windy springs, short hot summers, concentrated autumn rainfall, large diurnal temperature range, and a short frost-free period. The average annual temperature is 8-9℃, with a significant diurnal temperature range of 12-15℃. The average annual accumulated temperature above 10℃ is 3250-3300℃. The frost-free period is relatively short, averaging 157-170 days. Sunshine is abundant with strong solar radiation, averaging 2800-3000 hours annually. The average annual precipitation is around 200 mm, mainly concentrated in July, August, and September. Annual evaporation is high, resulting in high aridity; the annual evaporation is approximately 1595 mm.
