Zhenbeibao West Cinema is located in Xixia District, Yinchuan City. In this cinema, which is characterized by its simplicity, roughness, and desolation, classic films such as "The Wrangler", "Red Sorghum", "Journey to the West", "The Tomb Raider", "The Royal Guards", and more than a hundred influential films and TV shows have been filmed. A large number of Chinese film industry celebrities have left their footprints here, such as Gong Li, Jiang Wen, Zhang Yimou, Ge You, Stephen Chow, Donnie Yen, etc.
The cinema consists of three parts: Mingcheng, Qingcheng, and Laoyinchuan Street. Tourists can visit the cinema along the "8-shaped" route of Laoyinchuan Street. Here, you can see the cityscape of Yinchuan in the first half of the 20th century and enjoy local traditional snacks such as lamb offal soup.
The Ming and Qing castles in the cinema were rebuilt from the garrison castles left over from the Ming and Qing dynasties, and the city walls still retain the unique desolate and dilapidated scenery of the northwest frontier. In the cities of Ming and Qing, you can see many familiar movie scenes, such as the gate tower where Sun Wukong and Fairy Zixia stand in "Journey to the West", the wedding platform of Bull Demon King, and the execution platform of Tang Monk; There are also the Moon Gate in the movie 'Red Sorghum', the brewery where 'My Grandfather' urinates after getting drunk, the sedan chair that Jiu Er rode on when she got married, the large vat and utensils used to hold wine, and so on.
There are many places in the cinema where costumes and props are rented out. Here, you can wear a set of costumes from the movie, use props from the movie, and walk around the movie scenes to satisfy the addiction of being a star.
Before visiting the West Cinema in Zhenbeibao, you can first review a few classic movies and then go sightseeing, which will give you a different feeling.
