Changzhi Climate

Changzhi City, located in the southeastern part of the Shanxi Loess Plateau and surrounded by mountains, experiences a strong and persistent continental monsoon and a distinct warm temperate continental climate, characterized by a mild, dry climate and four distinct seasons. In 2016, Changzhi experienced relatively high temperatures, abundant precipitation, and low sunshine. Meteorological disasters were numerous, primarily hail, freezing temperatures, droughts, and floods. The city's average temperature was 10.3°C, 0.6°C higher than previous years. Precipitation in various counties ranged from 511.2 mm to 795.9 mm, with an average sunshine duration of 2185.1 hours and an average frost-free period of 220 days.
