Linzi District in Zibo City is a National Historical and Cultural City with a long and rich history. Linzi, the capital of the ancient Qi State, is the birthplace of Qi culture and the origin of world football, earning it the nickname "Ancient Rome of the East." "Zibo barbecue" has become Zibo's new calling card, and the Zibo Barbecue Festival is held annually around May Day. The name Zibo originated in the early 1920s, originally combining the names of Zichuan and Boshan. Zibo is a National Civilized City.
