Jiujiang Overview


Jiujiang City, abbreviated as "Xun," and formerly known as "Xunyang," "Chaisang," and "Jiangzhou," is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangxi Province. Located in northern Jiangxi, at the junction of Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, and Anhui provinces, it lies between 113°56' and 116°54' east longitude and 28°41' and 30°05' north latitude. It has a subtropical monsoon climate with four distinct seasons. The city covers a total area of 19,084.61 square kilometers and administers 3 urban districts, 7 counties, and 3 county-level cities. The Jiujiang Municipal People's Government is located at No. 66, Tiyu Road, Balihu New District. At the end of 2024, Jiujiang City had a resident population of 4.499 million.
