Hongfeng Lake is located in Qingzhen City, western Guiyang. It is a relatively large artificial lake in Guizhou Province, with over 100 islands and peninsulas of various sizes distributed throughout the lake.

The Red Maple Ridge by the lake is densely covered with maple trees. In late autumn, from early November to early December, the maple leaves are fiery red, which is quite spectacular against the backdrop of clear water. Tourists can take a boat tour to admire the maple leaves in the lake, or climb onto the small island in the lake for sightseeing. The maple leaves are as red as fire, and the red leaves are blue waves, making people intoxicated.
Hongfeng Lake has a vast surface and is divided into four areas: North Lake, Middle Lake, South Lake, and Back Lake. Beihu Lake has a vast expanse of blue waves and a relatively large water area; The water area of Zhonghu Lake is narrow, and the mountains on both sides are extremely steep; Nanhu Mountain is heavy and has many karst caves; The Houhu Group has numerous peaks and bays surrounding the water. Small islands are scattered throughout the lake, especially in the North Lake where there are many islands. Tourists can take scenic boats to enjoy the scenery of the lake, and also visit Snake Island and Turtle Island in the lake for sightseeing.
There are Miao, Dong, and Buyi villages by the Red Maple Lake, which blend many ethnic customs. The hanging corner towers of Miao villages, drum towers and wind and rain bridges of Dong families, and stone houses of Buyi ethnic group are scattered and unique. Tourists can step into the village and enjoy exciting ethnic performances such as "Up the Knife Mountain, Down the Fire Sea", and appreciate the rich ethnic customs such as toasting songs and road blocking drinks.
