Fuzhou Transportation


Fuzhou Changle International Airport is located in Binhai, Changle District, Fuzhou City.  It is the main international airport in Fujian Province and one of China's international aviation ports. It was put into use on June 23, 1997. It is the first large-scale modern aviation airport in China built entirely with funds raised by the local government. The airfield is rated 4E and the apron area is over 300,000 square meters. As of 2017, Fuzhou Airport operates 103 domestic and international routes and serves 75 cities, including 4 regional routes and 12 international routes. It is the ninth city airport in China to achieve full coverage of provincial capital routes across the country. The annual passenger throughput exceeded 10 million in 2015. International Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan routes include Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Bangkok, Jakarta, New York, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, with a total of about 200 flights arriving and departing every day, basically forming an air traffic network radiating from Fuzhou to the whole country and extending to East Asia and Southeast Asia.

Water Transportation

Mawei Port is a century-old port and a key hub for foreign trade in Fujian Province. Connected to three rivers and four seas, Mawei Port boasts excellent port conditions, boasting a network of ports and tributaries. The adjacent aquatic product trading center accounts for approximately 9% of the national total annual trade volume, and the distant-water fish caught at Mawei Port annually accounts for approximately 40% of the national total.

In 2024, Fuzhou's coastal ports handled 251.8527 million tons of cargo, a 0.7% decrease from the previous year. Of this total, foreign trade cargo throughput reached 71.054 million tons, a 3.9% increase. Container throughput reached 3.5874 million TEUs, a 2.6% increase.
