Jingyue Lake

Jingyue Lake is a reservoir in the southeast suburb of Changchun City. It is named for its shape like a crescent moon. Large areas of trees are planted around Jingyue Lake, making it a very large forest park in Changchun. It is known as the sisters lake of Taiwan's "Sun Moon Lake".

Come to Jingyuetan Forest Park, you can stroll along the edge of the pond, enjoy the lake and mountain scenery by the reservoir dam, or stroll along the wooden boardwalk in the forest, breathe pure air, and enjoy forest bathing. In addition, there are attractions such as Jingyuetan Ski Resort and Beiputuo Temple in the park.

Cycling around the lake

The northwest end of Jingyuetan Forest Park is the main entrance, which can be reached by taking a light rail or bus from the city center. The park is very large, and there is a road around the lake. If you walk the whole way, it may take a whole day and it is very tiring. You can take a tour bus (electric scooter) along West Huantan Road at the main entrance square, and the final destination is the ski resort. You can get off halfway. However, what is more effortless and interesting is riding a bicycle. It takes nearly two hours to cycle around the lake, and bicycles can be rented at the main entrance.

Forest Baths

Jingyuetan Park has lush trees and fresh air, making it perfect for enjoying forest bathing. On the south bank of Jingyue Lake, there is a forest bathhouse where you can stroll and relax in the dense forest, breathing in the pure air. To the west of Jingyue Lake, there is a small forest bathhouse where you can bring food, picnic cloth, or even a tent for camping. There is also Jilin Northeast Tiger Park in the park, but it is an independent attraction where you can see animals such as Northeast tigers, African lions, brown bears, and spotted deer.

cruise ship terminal

Rowing on Jingyue Lake is a pleasant thing, and there are boat docks next to the dam, ski resort, and forest beach. In winter, you can come to Jingyuetan Ski Resort for skiing. There are beginner, intermediate, and advanced ski slopes as well as off-road ski slopes here. In summer, you can also experience the ski resort's cable ski slopes, which means taking the cable car up the mountain first, and then taking the 1.6-kilometer-long tube track slide down the mountain through layers of forest, which is quite exciting.
