Jingzhou Museum


The collection of Jingzhou Museum is very rich and has distinct local characteristics. In the Jingzhou Museum, you can admire various exquisitely crafted jade ornaments from prehistoric times. The museum also houses early mathematical treatises such as "Arithmetic Books" and Xiao He's "Two Year Laws and Regulations" from the early Han Dynasty; The treasure of the town hall is the "Western Han male corpse" that has been preserved for a long time and is relatively well preserved.

The cultural relics exhibition of Jingzhou Museum is divided into two major exhibition areas: the front yard and the back yard. The front yard exhibition area selects representative cultural relics in the order of historical development, showcasing the civilization development history of Jingzhou area from the Neolithic Age to the Qin and Han Dynasties.

The exhibition area in the backyard showcases the treasures of the town hall: a male corpse from the Western Han Dynasty unearthed in 1975 in the ancient capital of Chu, Jinan City, along with its coffin and burial items. The male corpse was buried underground for over 2000 years without decay, which is rare in the world.
