Jingdezhen, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangxi Province, is located in northeastern Jiangxi Province. It borders Dongzhi County, Anhui Province to the northwest, Wannian County to the south, Poyang County to the west, Qimen County, Anhui Province to the northeast, and Wuyuan County to the southeast. It covers a total area of 5,256 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Jingdezhen City comprises two urban districts, one county-level city, and one county. By the end of 2024, Jingdezhen's total permanent population was 1.618 million.
Known as the "Porcelain Capital," Jingdezhen's porcelain boasts beautiful shapes, a wide variety of varieties, rich decorations, and unique styles. Known for being "white as jade, bright as a mirror, thin as paper, and resonant like a chime," its blue and white porcelain, exquisite porcelain, famille rose porcelain, and colored glaze porcelain are collectively known as Jingdezhen's four traditional porcelains.
