Zhengzhou Travel Guide
Overview
Zhengzhou is the capital of Henan Province, located 25 kilometers south of the Yellow River. The Beijing Guangzhou and Longhai railways intersect here and are one of the important hubs of China's railway transportation. Zhengzhou is an ancient city that was the capital of the Shang Dynasty as early as 3500 years ago. At that time, bronze smelting technology and ceramics were already quite advanced. The blue glazed porcelain jar unearthed in Zhengzhou is the earliest primitive porcelain in China.
There are not many scenic spots in the urban area of Zhengzhou. As one of the few "courtyard" level museums in China, the Henan Provincial Museum is definitely a paradise for history enthusiasts. The brightly lit Erqi Square is the main shopping center in Zhengzhou. The main attractions in Zhengzhou are located outside the urban area, especially Mount Song in Dengfeng and Shaolin Temple, which are renowned both domestically and internationally.
