Zhangjiakou Climate


Zhangjiakou City has a temperate continental monsoon climate. Its climate is characterized by distinct four seasons, with cold and long winters; dry and windy springs; hot, short summers with concentrated rainfall; and sunny autumns with moderate temperatures. The Bashang area boasts abundant sunlight, a large diurnal temperature swing, simultaneous rain and heat, and a cool, cool growing season. High temperatures and high humidity are rare. The Baxia River Valley Basin, located in the central part of the city, is formed by the runoff of the Sanggan and Yang Rivers. Its terrain is generally low, ranging from 500 to 800 meters above sea level. It features a large diurnal temperature swing, abundant sunlight, a long frost-free period, abundant heat, and simultaneous rain and heat.
