Jimingyi is located in Jimingyi Village, Jimingyi Township, Huailai County, Hebei Province, about 130 kilometers away from Beijing by car. It is a complete ancient city of Ming Dynasty post stations. The outer ring of Jiming Post City has a magnificent ancient city wall, and there are many ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties in the city, including famous old houses where Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Guangxu lived during their escape. Jiming Post City is roughly square in shape, with a length and width of approximately 500 meters, and can be explored on foot within the ancient city. There are still people living in the city, and the living atmosphere is relatively strong. The Empress Dowager Cixi Palace, also known as the He Family Courtyard, has five entrances and is a relatively high standard courtyard in the entire ancient city. When the Eight Nation Alliance attacked Beijing, Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Guangxu stayed here during their escape. The courtyard still maintains its original appearance, and there are portraits of Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Guangxu hanging inside the house. You can go in and take a look.
Other buildings also have their own histories. Mount Taishan Palace, also known as Mount Taishan Temple, was built in the eighth year of Shunzhi's reign in the Qing Dynasty. It has a history of more than three hundred years. The murals in the palace are more wonderful, and the pictures are vivid. So far, you can still see it clearly, so you can have a good visit. The God of Wealth Temple and Wenchang Palace are also some of the more magnificent ancient buildings in the ancient city, each of which houses statues of Guan Gong and Confucius, and visitors can go in to pay their respects.
Visiting Jimingyi Ancient City often comes from Beijing and other places. If you only visit this one attraction, you can travel back and forth on the same day. If you want to visit famous attractions such as Jiming Mountain and Tianmo Park in Huailai together, you need to stay overnight. There are farmhouses in Jiming Post City where you can stay and dine. Generally, each room costs 50-80 yuan, and the conditions are average. You can choose to stay in Xiahuayuan District of Zhangjiakou City or Shacheng District of Huailai County, both of which have mature reception conditions and various levels of hotels and guesthouses for accommodation.
