Xiamen Climate

Xiamen has a subtropical maritime monsoon climate characterized by mild and rainy weather, with an average annual temperature of around 21°C, mild winters and mild summers. Annual rainfall averages around 1,200 mm, with peak rainfall from May to August. Winds typically reach force 3 to 4, with the prevailing wind direction being northeasterly. Due to the Pacific Ocean's temperature gradient, Xiamen is affected by an average of four to five typhoons annually, most concentrated between July and September.
