Sunshine Rock is formed by two giant stones standing against each other vertically and horizontally. It is the highest peak on Gulangyu Island and one of its viewing points. Looking around, one can see the city center of Xiamen, the entire island of Gulangyu, the vast sea, and the islands of Dadan and Erdan.
Riguang Rock is located in the central southern part of Gulangyu Island, Xiamen City, commonly known as "Yanzi Mountain" and also known as "Huangyan". According to legend, in 1641, Zheng Chenggong came to Huangyan and saw that the scenery here was better than Japan's Nikko Mountain. He then took apart the character "Huang" and called it "Nikko Rock".
The rock top is surrounded by railings, making it a small observation deck. It should be noted that during peak season, there will be a lot of people during the day, and due to the small observation deck, it will be very crowded. So if time permits, you can choose to go in the evening, when there are fewer tourists and there is a unique scenery.
There is also a small scenic spot called Riguangyan Temple in the Riguangyan Scenic Area. If you are interested, you can go and take a look along the way.
