Water Transport: Sanmenxia is an inland river region without a water network. The Yellow River flows through Sanmenxia for 220 kilometers, with 140 kilometers upstream of the Sanmenxia Dam and 80 kilometers downstream. Water transport mainly consists of cross-river ferries and water tourism, with virtually no long-distance shipping. The city has four key reservoir areas: Xiaolangdi Reservoir, Sanmenxia Reservoir, Shuanglongwan Reservoir, and Zhaikou Reservoir. There are 15 ferry crossings and 4 tourist wharves (Nancun Wharf, Zhaikou Reservoir, Shuanglongwan Scenic Area, and Shanzhou Park Wharf No. 1). There are currently 19 transport vessels, including 5 passenger ships (mainly tourist boats), 5 ferries, 2 cargo ships, and 7 motorized boats. Freight volume is mainly concentrated on car ferries at Ximen Ferry, Bailang Ferry, and Da'an Ferry, primarily for cross-river ferries. There are 230 crew members of various types. In 2020, the city's water transport completed 35,865 passenger trips.
