Mount Wuyi has the dual titles of world natural heritage and world cultural heritage, which is divided into Mount Wuyi Nature Reserve and Mount Wuyi Scenic Area. The Mount Wuyi mountains and waters that tourists now visit are concentrated in the Mount Wuyi Scenic Spot from the west side of Chongyang to Xincun. In order to protect the ecological environment, the nature reserve has been closed to the public since 2010.
Mount Wuyi can be divided into four areas: Tianyou Peak to Taoyuan Cave, Jiuqu Stream to Wuyi Palace, Yixian Sky to Huxiao Rock, Dahongpao to Shuilian Cave. The attractions in the scenic area are relatively scattered, with one on the east and one on the west, unlike other tourist attractions that can be visited in one go, so it usually takes 2-3 days to visit here.
If you only have one day, generally speaking, the towering Tianyou Peak and the scenic Jiuqu Creek are ideal route choices. For tea lovers, walking the tea field trail from Dahongpao to Shuiliandong, smelling the fragrance of tea in the valley, is also quite interesting.
If you have two days, you can basically visit all four major areas. You can start by drifting on Jiuqu Creek, and the end point of the bamboo raft is Wuyi Palace. Then you can continue to visit Shuilian Cave and Dahongpao Scenic Area. The Shuilian Cave and Dahongpao Scenic Area are connected, and the walking path in the middle has a beautiful scenery, which is relatively flat and easy to walk. The next day, visit the southern line of Mount Wuyi, where there are Tianyou Peak, Yixiantian, Huxiao Rock and other scenic spots. In the morning, you can start playing in the Tianyou Peak area, and in the afternoon, you can play in Yixiantian+Huxiaoyan. Once you come out of Yixiantian, you will be directly at Huxiaoyan.
If you have enough time, you can have three days of leisure. In addition to the four major areas of Mount Wuyi Scenic Area, you can also visit the following ancient villages and cities such as Meicun and Chengcun.
