Jinzhong Overview

Jinzhong City, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Shanxi Province, is located in central Shanxi Province, nestled between the Taihang Mountains to the east and the Fen River to the west. It borders the provincial capital, Taiyuan, to the north, Changzhi and Linfen to the south, Yangquan to the northeast, and Lüliang to the southwest. As of June 2023, Jinzhong governs two urban districts, eight counties, and administers one county-level city, covering a total area of 16,400 square kilometers. By the end of 2023, Jinzhong's permanent population was 3,376,503.
