Jinzhong History & Culture

Jinzhong City is a national cultural ecological protection zone (Jinzhong Cultural Ecological Protection Zone). It has a long history and culture. Humans have lived and multiplied there as early as a million years ago. There are more than a hundred cultural relics from the Stone Age, and many famous people and officials were born here. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Jinzhong merchants created the miracle of "traveling across Europe and Asia for nine thousand miles and dominating the business world for five hundred years". They are known for "transporting goods to the world, connecting money to the world, being rich in the world, being honest in the world, and being family-oriented". They also nurtured the precious Taihang spirit. Jinzhong belongs to the core area of Taiyuan City, a part of the central Shanxi city cluster, and an important regional transportation hub and logistics base in Shanxi and even North China. The urban area of the city is close to the provincial capital Taiyuan, forming a "three vertical and ten horizontal" road network system with Taiyuan.
