Jinan Climate


Jinan City belongs to the warm temperate continental monsoon climate zone, with four distinct seasons and abundant sunshine. In 2023, Jinan City's annual average precipitation was 638.3 mm, slightly less than the normal average (660.3 mm), while the annual average temperature was 15.4℃, abnormally higher than the normal average (14.1℃). Disasters were frequent, with 7 days of heavy rain, 2 days of heavy snow, 26 days of short-duration heavy rainfall, 35 days of high temperatures, 20 days of low temperatures, 1 typhoon event, and 6 severe convective events. The maximum cumulative precipitation was 87.5 mm, and the maximum hourly rainfall intensity was 102.3 mm, both occurring during the impact of Typhoon Doksuri. Under the influence of global warming and the Pacific El Niño event, extreme weather and climate events in 2023 were more frequent and intense, with abnormal temperatures being particularly prominent and extreme cold and warm events occurring frequently.
