Qianfoshan Scenic Area

Qianfoshan Scenic Area is located in the southern part of Jinan's central city and is one of the three major scenic spots in Jinan. Before the Zhou Dynasty, it was called Lishan. It is said that Yu Shun once cleared the land and planted fields at the foot of the mountain, so it is also known as Shun Gengshan. During the reign of Emperor Kaihuang of Sui Dynasty, many Buddha statues were carved according to the mountain terrain, and the "Thousand Buddha Temple" was built, which was originally called Thousand Buddha Mountain. The park was established in 1959, listed as a provincial-level scenic spot in 1995, rated as a national AAAA level tourist attraction in 2005, and listed as a national level scenic spot in 2017.

The Qianfoshan Scenic Area covers an area of 151.8 hectares, with the highest point reaching an altitude of 285 meters. The peaks are undulating, beautiful and magnificent. The famous Qing Dynasty writer Liu E once described it in "The Travels of Lao Can" as "like a large painting by Zhao Qianli of the Song Dynasty, creating a screen dozens of miles long".

Qianfo Mountain has a long history and culture, with Yu Shun culture, Buddhist culture, and natural ecology as its core content. It is a famous mountain where world Buddhist culture and imperial culture coexist. Qianfo Mountain is one of the birthplaces of Yu Shun culture. Shun once cultivated at the foot of Qianfo Mountain and became famous in all directions. There are still Shun cultural landmarks in the scenic area, such as Lishan Temple, Shun Shrine, Three Holy Temples, Dashun Stone Map Garden, and Lishan Traceability; The origin of Buddhist culture in Qianfoshan can be traced back to the Sui and Tang dynasties, leaving behind rich Buddhist cultural landscapes such as Xingguo Temple and Qianfo Cliff Carvings; Qianfo Mountain has a superior natural environment with numerous ancient and famous trees, including Foshan Chrysanthemum Appreciation, Lishan Range Rover, Tang Huai Gu, Nanlu Danxia, Ciyun Tanyou, and many other natural scenic spots; The traditional folk culture of Qianfoshan has distinct characteristics, including intangible cultural heritage such as the "March 3rd" Folk Culture Temple Fair and the "September 9th" Chongyang Mountain Fair. Qianfoshan Scenic Area has a profound cultural heritage, abundant natural resources, and significant regional value. It is one of the few natural mountain landscapes located in the city in China, and is also a popular destination for Jinan citizens to relax and exercise. It is known as the "urban balcony", "natural oxygen bar", and "ecological amusement park" of Jinan City.

In recent years, Qianfoshan Scenic Area has made significant progress. Since 2011, environmental renovation and improvement have been carried out year by year, strengthening the ecological greening landscape effect, highlighting the historical and cultural mainline, and comprehensively enhancing the overall landscape and cultural taste of the scenic area. In 2013, the Qilu Stele Culture Park, a theme park for Shandong stele culture and Jinan stele culture, was built at the southern foot of the mountain; Since 2014, in order to vigorously promote the Shun culture, Shun cultural attractions such as Nanfeng Pavilion, Siqin Pavilion, Qingyun Pavilion, and Lishan Traceability have been built, forming a Shun cultural tourism route with the characteristics of Quancheng culture, consisting of ten Shun cultural attractions. It has become a tourist destination that integrates history, culture, and scenery, with complete functions and a large scale, and is deeply loved and welcomed by tourists.                                                                                                                                                                                                 Travel  Tips
