The Chaoran Building is the carrier of the Chaoran Zhiyuan landscape in the Daming Lake Scenic Area. The building was first built in the Yuan Dynasty. According to the "Licheng County Annals", after the Daming Lake Water Pavilion, Li Cong, a scholar from the Yuan Dynasty, built the Chaoran Building. The poet Yang Yansi of the Ming Dynasty wrote the poem "Chaoran Tower": "The pavilions and terraces near the water are lush with vegetation, and the Zhu Tower echoes back a hundred feet. The window holds the East China Sea's rain, and the threshold overlooks the South Mountain's Daidai clouds. The willow colored lotus fragrance lingers outside, and the sound of Lingge fishing is heard in the seats. Who can collect the smoke and moon on the seven bridges? It has already scattered into the Ming Lake
The Chaoran Building has a current area of 5673 square meters, a height of 51.7 meters, and is divided into seven floors. The upper floor is for sightseeing, while the lower floors showcase Jinan's spring culture, urban garden culture, and folk culture in the form of wood carvings, murals, pictures, and text.
