Black Tiger Spring

Black Tiger Spring is one of the four major spring groups in Jinan (Baotu Spring, Black Tiger Spring, Pearl Spring, and Wulongtan). It is located in Jinan Ring Park, east of Quancheng Square, under the shade of green trees, connected to the ancient city moat on the east side of the square, and facing the Jiefang Pavilion across from it.

Black Tiger Spring has a great momentum in the spring water of Jinan. It is a naturally formed hole with a depth of 3 meters. At night, from afar, it sounds more like the roar of a tiger, hence the name of this spring. The spring water flows into the square spring pool, and the water inside the pool is clear with green algae floating. Then it flows into the moat, forming a waterfall. Therefore, Black Tiger Spring has become a major scenic spot in the Ring Park.

tourist guide

When you come to Black Tiger Spring, you will find many citizens taking water here, which shows the good water quality. If equipped, you can also try tasting this spring water. The pavilion in the Huancheng Park is designed specifically for viewing spring water. Visitors can see the spring water spraying out from three stone carved heads through a hidden passage in the cave, reaching a distance of over one meter. It creates layers of water splashes in the square pool made of bluestone, which is breathtaking.

After visiting the Black Tiger Spring in Fangchi, tourists can come to the north of Fangchi, where there is a water gate that forms a water curtain and flows into the river, resembling a waterfall. Tourists can watch the water gushing out from under the giant rock here, rushing against it and making rough noises. Not far from the Black Tiger Spring, there is a small pool located in a stone wall cave with no signs of artificial decoration. Many locals gather here to draw spring water, and tourists can also taste it with mineral water bottles. Spring water has a refreshing coolness that can relieve summer heat.

On the east side of the spring source, there are two giant tigers, one copper and one stone, leading their heads and hooves in a majestic manner as they descend the mountain. Tourists can take photos with them here as a memento.                                   Travel  Tips
