Located in the geographical center of Northeast Asia, Jilin City enjoys convenient transportation options, including rail, road, water, and air transport. Jilin Longjia International Airport and Jilin Airport, along with the Changchun-Hunchun and Shenyang-Harbin Expressways, the Changchun-Hunchun Intercity Express Railway, and the Shenyang-Harbin Double-Line Railway, form a comprehensive, convenient, and multi-dimensional transportation network.
Railways

Jilin City is served by seven railway lines: the Changchun-Hunchun Intercity Railway, the Changchun-Tumen Railway, the Shenyang-Jilin Railway, the Jilin-Shuzhou Railway, the Shuzhou-Yulin Railway, the Labin Railway, and the Yanzhou-Baihe Railway, forming a "three horizontal and two vertical" railway network that connects the city and its surroundings.
As of the end of 2020, Jilin City boasted three high-speed railway stations along the Changchun-Jilin-Hunchun Intercity Railway: Jilin Station, Jiaohe West Station, and Shuangji Station. Five major conventional railway stations were built: Shulan Station, Jiaohe Station, Panshi Station, Kouqian Station, and Huadian Station. Several third- and fourth-class passenger and freight stations also exist, including Yantongshan Station, Huangsongdian Station, Lafa Station, and Jilin North Station. Jilin Station, located in Changyi District, Jilin City, is situated at the intersection of the Changchun-Hunchun, Shenyang-Jilin, Changchun-Tumen, and Jilin-Shuzhou railways and is under the jurisdiction of the Jilin Train Management Section of the Shenyang Railway Group Co., Ltd. Built in 1912, Jilin Station is one of the oldest stations on the railway. The building area of Jilin Station is 55,000 square meters, of which the elevated waiting room covers an area of 15,300 square meters.
