Handan Climate

Handan's climate is a typical warm temperate semi-humid continental monsoon climate.

1. Distinct Four Seasons

Handan's climate exhibits distinct characteristics with the distinct alternation of the four seasons. Spring is dry and rainy, a critical period for crop growth, but attention should be paid to drought prevention and moisture retention. Summer is hot and rainy, with high temperatures and concentrated precipitation, which is conducive to rapid crop growth, but can also lead to flooding. Autumn is mild and cool, a pleasant harvest season. Winter is cold and dry, with low temperatures and little precipitation, requiring proper protection from the cold.

2. Moderate Temperatures

Handan's average annual temperature is 14°C, which is relatively habitable. The coldest month averages -2.5°C, with extreme lows reaching -20°C, indicating moderate winter temperatures. The hottest month averages 27°C, with extreme highs reaching 42.5°C. Although summers are hot, the high temperatures are relatively short-lived compared to some southern cities.

3. Abundant Sunlight

Handan enjoys 2,557 hours of sunshine annually, which is beneficial for the photosynthesis and growth of crops and provides excellent lighting conditions for local residents.

4. Moderate Precipitation

Handan's precipitation is primarily concentrated in the summer, and the simultaneous presence of rain and heat is beneficial for crop growth. Furthermore, this moderate rainfall prevents water shortages and severe flooding.

In summary, Handan's climate makes it suitable for crop growth and human habitation, but it also requires careful precautions against natural disasters such as drought and flooding.
