Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport is a regional hub airport in China and the fourth largest airport after Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Beijing Capital International Airport, and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.
In terms of domestic routes, Shenzhen Airport will have 139 domestic destinations by 2024. In terms of international and regional routes, Shenzhen Airport's international and regional passenger flow reached 5.181 million in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 108.7%. Throughout the year, 12 new and restored international passenger routes were opened, 10 international passenger routes were encrypted, and there were over 45 international and regional passenger routes with more than 800 inbound and outbound passenger flights per week.
Port
As of July 2022, Shenzhen has 16 Class I ports approved by the State Council for opening to the outside world. Among them, there are 7 highway ports (Luohu Port, Wenjindu Port, Huanggang Port, Shatoujiao Port, Shenzhen Bay Port, Futian Port, Liantang Port); Two railway ports (West Kowloon Station Port of Guangzhou Shenzhen Hong Kong High speed Railway and Shenzhen Railway Port); Six water transportation ports (Yantian Port, Daya Bay, Shekou, Chiwan, Mawan, Dachan Bay Port); One air port (Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport) .
In 2024, Shenzhen will inspect 240 million entry-exit personnel, an increase of 45.6% (the highest in history is 252 million in 2018), including 2.76 million inbound foreigners, ranking second in China.
Railway
According to the "Shenzhen Comprehensive Three dimensional Transportation Network Planning Plan (2024-2035)", Shenzhen will improve the city's "Five Main and Five Auxiliary" rail hub system. Among them, Shenzhen Station, Shenzhen North Station, Xili Station, Airport East Station, and Shenzhen Pingshan Station are listed as "main hubs", while Guangmingcheng Station, Futian Station, Luohu North Station, Shenzhen East Station, and Pinghu Station are "auxiliary hubs".
In 2024, the number of railway passengers arriving and departing in Shenzhen reached 186 million, an increase of 12.0%. Among them, the number of passengers arriving and departing at Shenzhen North Station reached 116 million, a record high in total.
