Yantai Overview

Yantai City, a prefecture-level city in Shandong Province, is located in the northeastern part of the Shandong Peninsula. It borders Weihai City to the east, Weifang City to the west, Qingdao City to the southwest, and is bordered by the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea to the north, facing the Liaodong Peninsula and separated from Dalian City by sea. It covers a total area of 13,930.1 square kilometers. As of June 2023, Yantai City administers 5 urban districts and 6 county-level cities. As of the end of 2024, Yantai City had a resident population of 7,035,200. The Yantai dialect belongs to the Jiaoliao Mandarin dialect group.
