Xiangxi Prefecture, located in the west of Hunan Province, is also called Xiangxi Tujia & Miao Ethnic Autonomous Prefecture under the provincial gorvernment of Hunan.
Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture has one world cultural heritage, 12 Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level, as well as 12 cultural relics protection units in Hunan Province.
