Located in the northeast of Shangrao City, Mount Sanqing Scenic Area is known as "Little Mount Huangshan Mountain". It is named for the three mountains of Yujing, Yuxu, and Yuhua, which stand tall and straight, and the three deities of Taoist Yuqing, Shangqing, and Taiqing sit on the top of the mountain.
What to See
This is a famous Taoist mountain with a somewhat fairy like scenery. You can watch the beautiful sunrise over the sea of clouds, appreciate the lifelike rocks in the mountains, and even walk up the high-altitude boardwalk to enjoy the scenery.
The Oriental Goddess is located in the northeast of Nanqing Garden Scenic Area in Mount Sanqing Scenic Area. It looks like a girl with long hair and a shawl. It looks peaceful and has stood upright for thousands of years. It is very lifelike. Take the Jinsha cableway (eastern cableway) up the mountain to see it, which is one of the must see sights in Mount Sanqing.
The Giant Python Emerging from the Mountain is a pictographic stone pillar formed through long-term weathering and gravity in nature. The peak walls are steep, the top is slightly flat, and the neck is slightly thin, like a giant python emerging from the mountain. It can be said to be a masterpiece of nature. It is opposite to the Oriental Goddess landscape, and can be enjoyed on the way up the mountain from the Jinsha Cableway (Eastern Cableway) to the Nanqing Garden Scenic Area.
In addition, the beautiful scenery of Mount Sanqing Scenic Spot is also the beautiful scenery of Sanqing Mountain. Don't forget to use your imagination and feel the miracle of nature when you visit it.
Nanqingyuan Scenic Spot
This is the place where natural wonders are concentrated in Mount Sanqing Scenic Area. Several landmark landscapes of Mount Sanqing, such as python emerging from the mountain and oriental goddess, are located here. The Liuxia Terrace in the scenic area is a great place to enjoy the sunset and sea of clouds. The sunrise and sunset of Yutai are very charming, and in May and June, you can also enjoy the magnificent scenery of azaleas blooming all over the mountain in Dujuan Valley. Most tourists choose to come here in the afternoon for sightseeing, starting from Liuxia Terrace and ending at the foot of Youxian Valley. Along the way, they can walk downhill through the 299 steps of Yixiantian to experience the dangers of the towering mountains. In the evening, they can also enjoy the beautiful sunset scenery.
Sanqing Fudi Scenic Spot
The essence of Taoism in Mount Sanqing is in this scenic spot. With Sanqing Palace as the core, it gathers the Taoist cultural landscape of Mount Sanqing, which can be called the "open-air museum" of Taoist ancient buildings. Among them, the well preserved one is undoubtedly the Song Dynasty small stone pagoda built on a dangerous rock, with an exquisite appearance and a location that is also remarkable. In addition to experiencing Taoist culture, this place is also a great place to appreciate the scenery. The Wind and Thunder Tower is a great place to watch the sunrise and the sea of clouds, and Feixiantai is a great place to enjoy the sunset and sunset.
West Coast Scenic Spot
The West Coast Scenic Area is an open platform for viewing Mount Sanqing, and the amazing high altitude plank road is also located here. Walking on the high-altitude boardwalk, feel the pleasure of leisurely strolling on the cliffs, appreciate the spectacular scenery of continuous peaks and deep canyons, and also enjoy the magnificent beauty of sunset and sea of clouds from afar.
Yujing Peak Scenic Spot
Yujing Peak Scenic Area is famous for the three peaks of Yujing, Yuxu and Yuhua, among which the sea of clouds, sunrise and sunset of Yujing Peak are magnificent, and it is also a good place to view the beauty of the whole Mount Sanqing Scenic Area. However, precisely because the mountain peak is steep, it is not recommended for tourists to climb to the top of Yujing Peak, as safety is important.
Wanshou Garden Scenic Spot
This is a very symbolic scenic spot in Mount Sanqing Scenic Area, located at the southern foot of Mount Sanqing. The theme here is auspicious longevity culture, and the birthday stars are like iconic landscapes here. Strolling through it, admiring the landscapes of Guanyin Terrace, Bai Tou Xie Lao Feng, He Shou Ding, De Lu Terrace, and experiencing the health, wellness, and longevity that permeate here, can be described as leisurely and leisurely.
How to Travel
The main scenic spots of the whole Mount Sanqing can be seen as two large circles. The Sunshine Coast in the west - Sanqing Blessed Land - West Coast is a circle, connected by the high altitude plank road on the cliff. The highlights are the Taoist architecture of Sanqing Palace and the sea of clouds on the west coast; The Nanqing Garden to the east is a circle that gathers iconic stones such as the "Oriental Goddess" and "Giant Python Coming Out of the Mountains", and the almost straight up and down "Yixiantian" steep steps are also located here. Two circles intersect near the Sun Mountain Villa Jade Emperor Peak, forming an "8" character. Further away are Sandangkou, Xihuatai, and Shiguling, but there are fewer people passing by.
The schedule of Mount Sanqing largely depends on whether you want to see the sunrise or where you want to see it. If you want to watch the sunrise, you can almost only stay on the mountain. If you don't plan to spend the night on the mountain, you can choose one of the areas to visit according to your preferences. 1. Classic one-day Tour
There are many tourists going up the mountain from the eastern Jinsha cableway, which is the Nanqing Garden of essence. About half an hour's walk to 'The Giant Python Comes Out of the Mountain', not far to the left is the 'Oriental Goddess'. Traveling west past the Jade Emperor Peak and embarking on the high-altitude boardwalk of the Sunshine Coast, one can overlook the pastoral scenery below. The Sunshine Coast and the Sanqing Fudi West Coast behind it form a circular tourism route. The Taoist ancient architecture complex in Sanqing Fudi is centered around the Sanqing Palace and arranged according to the orientation of the "Innate Eight Trigrams Diagram", which is very exquisite. Among them, the Wind and Thunder Tower is a place where many tourists compete to take photos. Rest here for a while, and continue forward to the high-altitude boardwalk on the west coast. Near the Sanqing Palace on the boardwalk, the "Monkey King Offering Treasure" is also one of the rare stones in the mountains. In the afternoon, I happened to see the sea of clouds and sunset clouds in Mount Sanqing on the plank road.
2. Sunrise viewing 2-day Tour
If you plan to camp or stay on the mountain to enjoy the beautiful sunrise, it is recommended to take the southern (Waishuangxi) cableway up the mountain, walk along the west coast - Sanqing Fudi - Sunshine Coast - Jade Emperor Peak, and then clockwise through Sanlong Sea, Giant Python Emerging from the Mountain, and Oriental Goddess. You can stay or camp nearby, and on good days, you can see beautiful starry skies at night. The next morning, continue walking to Yuqingtai to watch the sunrise, then continue clockwise through the "Jade Girl's Joyful Journey", and return to the southern cableway on the steep steps of the next line. If you have plenty of time, you can also take a stroll around the Wanshou Garden scenic area near the southern cableway.
