Laoshan Mountain

Laoshan Mountain is located in the eastern part of Qingdao, adjacent to the Yellow Sea to the east and south. It is known as the "Famous Mountain on the Sea" and has a peak of about 1100 meters above sea level. Laoshan has become a famous Taoist mountain for its grandeur, magnificence, uniqueness, and beauty. The Taoist temples, sunrise, and sea of clouds in Laoshan have long been renowned.

Laoshan Mountain is mainly composed of seven scenic tourist areas: Jufeng, Liuqing, Taiqing, Qipanshi, Yangkou, Beijiushui, and Hualou. There are four tourist routes in total, including three land routes (South Line, East Line, and Middle Line) and one waterway. The scenery of these scenic spots, including Jufeng Xuzhao, Taiqing Shuiyue, Haiqiao Xiandun, Hualou Dieshi, and Jiushui Mingyi, together form the twelve scenic spots of Laoshan.

Hualou is far away from the sea and not located in Laoshan District, so there are fewer tourists. The Beijiu River is known for its beauty, with streams and springs scattered throughout the scenic area, creating a picturesque scenery. For ordinary tourists, what is truly worth visiting are the Jufeng and Liuqing Yangkou routes, each of which is enough for one day. Jufeng and Yangkou are also the natural beauty of Laoshan Mountain.

Liuqing Yangkou, also known as the South Line, is an early developed scenic area in Laoshan Scenic Area. It is close to the coastline and has the famous attraction Taiqing Palace, which is the route for the vast majority of people to visit Mount Laoshan. The basic route to enter the scenic area is from Liuqing to Taiqing Palace Scenic Area and then to Huayan Temple, with the endpoint being Yangkou. As the essence of this route lies in the entrance, it is recommended to arrange your own time to visit the previous attractions.

Taiqing Palace - the place where the story of Laoshan Taoist priests takes place in Liaozhai. When Pu Songling came to this place, he was inspired by the Taiqing Palace and wrote 'Laoshan Taoist' here. Tourists can see the wall depicted by Pu Songling, where Taoist priests from Laoshan pass through and cross the wall. Huayan Temple - the existing Buddhist temple in Laoshan.

Due to its proximity to the Yellow Sea, Yangkou offers views of the sea and the breeze. Of course, in addition to the beautiful scenery, Yangkou is also the challenging Tian Tian Cave, which winds, slopes, and narrows. In the dark, you can't see your hands, and you can only barely pass through the narrow area with your body stuck, greatly increasing the fun of the gameplay. You can walk or take a cable car ride to the Tian Tian Cave, and climb to the top of the mountain to take photos, enjoy the scenery, and overlook the Yellow Sea. Also, remember to bring a flashlight so that you can enjoy the beautiful scenery inside the cave.

Besides Yangkou, the second beautiful scenery of Laoshan is in the Jufeng Scenic Area. Jufeng is the main peak of Laoshan Mountain, with Laoding being the highest point. The main focus here is mountain climbing, which is a physically demanding part of Laoshan tourism. The towering peaks are adorned with rocks and towering peaks, exuding a magnificent aura. On sunny days, one can admire the sea, while on cloudy days, one can see the sea of clouds. Watching the sunrise from the top of Laoshan, one can witness a breathtaking and enchanting scene.
