Zhongshan Mausoleum, also known as Dr.Sun Yat-Sen's Mausoleum ,is located in the Zhongshan Scenic Area in the eastern suburbs of Nanjing, adjacent to Linggu Temple to the east and Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum to the west. The entire building complex is built according to the mountain terrain, arranged on a central axis from south to north, and the cemetery is designed in a "alarm bell" shape.

To reach the top of Zhongshan Mausoleum, one needs to climb long steps, and each step will have a platform for resting. Here is a visual design technique that allows you to see the steps but not the platform when looking from bottom to top, and the platform but not the steps when looking from top to bottom. You may want to take a closer look. On the fifth platform, there are two large cauldrons, one of which still has shell holes left on its wall caused by the Japanese invasion of China.
