Nanchang August 1st Memorial Hall

Nanchang August 1st Memorial Hall is located in the center of the old city area and consists of two buildings: the new hall and the old hall. The old hall is the former site of the Nanchang Uprising Command Center, while the new hall is an expanded exhibition building in recent years. This is also one of the must visit red scenic spots for tourists in Nanchang.

Firstly, we will visit the exhibition building of the new museum. In the center of the lobby, there is a sculpture called "Stone Breaking through the Sky". A powerful hand extends from the shattered stones and tightly grips the trigger of the Hanyang made rifle. One of the stones is engraved with the moment when the uprising started. This sculpture is also a symbol of the memorial hall, and many visitors take photos here.

Leaving the exhibition hall, continue to visit the former site of the August 1st Uprising Headquarters, which is a five story gray building, formerly known as the Jiangxi Grand Hotel. Here, you can see items such as captured spoils of war, as well as restored restaurants and guest rooms based on the memories of veteran hotel workers. Additionally, some original items used during the uprising are also exhibited.
