Luoyang Old Street, also known as Laoji 老街 in Chinese, starts from Lijing Gate in the west and ends at the Drum Tower in the east, with the central part being Cross Street. Here, you can experience the bustling scene of old Luoyang and taste various local delicacies, among which the most common is Luoyang Water Banquet. This is almost a culinary paradise in Luoyang.

The old street culture was formed in Jinzhongjing (1214), built on the site of Dongcheng in the Eastern Capital of Sui and Tang Dynasties, with a history of more than 3050 years. This is a microcosm of the historical and cultural heritage of Luoyang city. In addition to the Lijingmen, Drum Tower, Octagonal Tower, Wenbi Peak, and others standing tall on the streets, traditional storefronts are also preserved in various commercial districts on East and West Streets. Most of these shops are in the style of the Ming and Qing dynasties, with banners of various merchant names hanging outside. Here, you can feel the local lifestyle.
The old street has maintained its original style, with bluestone roads and brick storefronts selling a wide variety of things, from snack shops and handicraft shops to clothing and hardware stores, full of the flavor of life. At night, the night market opens with outdoor tables and chairs, Luoyang water mats, and crowds of people, making it very lively. This is not a scenic spot, this is the living area of Luoyang people.
