Spring and autumn are prime travel seasons in Leshan, with pleasant weather, making them ideal for hiking and strolling the city.
Peak Season (March to November): The scenery is diverse, but the city is crowded, so accommodation and ticket prices may be high.
Off-Season (December to February): Mount Emei offers picturesque snowy scenery and relatively low costs, but please dress warmly. April, May, September, and October are recommended for pleasant weather and fewer tourists.

Airplane: Although Leshan does not have an airport, you can fly to Chengdu Shuangliu or Tianfu Airport and then take the high-speed rail or bus to Leshan. The high-speed rail journey from Shuangliu Airport to Leshan Station takes approximately 1.5 hours, while the journey from Tianfu Airport takes approximately 1 hour.
High-Speed Rail: Direct high-speed rail services run directly to Leshan Station from several cities. Please book your tickets in advance to avoid last-minute availability. Car: Long-distance buses are available to surrounding cities, and there are many buses from Leshan Bus Center Station.

Bus: Buses operate extensively. You can use bus apps to find routes. Some routes offer direct access to scenic spots and offer affordable fares.
Taxi: Within the city, taxi fares between attractions are typically under 20 yuan, especially when there are crowds.
Shared bikes/electric bikes: They are readily available throughout the city, making them convenient for exploring and enjoying local cuisine.
1.4 > Recommended Must-See Attractions
Leshan Giant Buddha: As Leshan's iconic landmark, the world's largest stone-carved seated Buddha is awe-inspiring. You can hike up the mountain for a closer look or take a boat tour for panoramic views. It's recommended to arrive early to avoid crowds and wear comfortable shoes for a 2-3 hour tour.
Mount Emei: One of China's four famous Buddhist mountains, Mount Emei boasts breathtaking views of the sea of clouds and sunrises from its golden summit. To watch the sunrise, stay at Leidongping and rise early the next morning to take the cable car up the mountain. Please plan on ample time and energy for the hike; a two-day tour is recommended.
Jiayang Railway: The world's only operating passenger steam train, offering picturesque scenery along the way. Please book your tickets online in advance and enjoy the beautiful scenery outside the window in the carriage. The tour lasts about 1-2 hours.

Gear Recommendations: When traveling to Leshan, especially when climbing Mount Emei, always wear athletic shoes and avoid high heels. Bring sunscreen in the summer and a thick jacket in the winter.
Note: Leshan cuisine is known for its spicy flavors. If you cannot tolerate spicy food, please inform the driver in advance. When taking a taxi or pedicab, please ask for the price beforehand to avoid being ripped off.
