Quanzhou Tianhou Temple

Tianhou, also known as Mazu, refers to the sea god Lin Mo. She is a belief in the Minnan region, and most people by the seaside believe in the goddess of heaven, so many people come to worship her. The Tianhou Temple in Quanzhou was first built in the second year of the Qingyuan era (1196 AD). It is one of the earliest and largest Mazu temples still existing along the southeast coast of China, and is also an important tourist attraction in Quanzhou. The incense here is very strong. The mountain gate of Tianhou Palace is very beautiful, with east-west buildings on both sides of the gate. After entering, you will find that the main hall of the Heavenly Queen, although it has gone through many vicissitudes, the Ming and Qing wooden architecture is still well preserved today. The main hall is magnificent, and the reliefs are also very beautiful. The carved decorations on the eaves are truly magnificent. The original Twenty Four Divine Departments were located in the East and West Corridors, which have now been converted into the exhibition hall of the Fujian Taiwan Relations History Museum. The museum houses a large collection of precious historical and folk cultural relics, and has held exhibitions such as the "Fujian Taiwan Folk Art Exhibition", "Quanzhou Ancient and Modern Character Book Fair", and "Fujian Taiwan Folk Customs Photography Exhibition". There are two uniquely shaped pillars in front of the rear hall, and the two inner pillars have a history and are themselves pillars from a Hindu temple in the Yuan Dynasty. There is a land god at the entrance, covered with a canopy of "Fude Zhengshen", praying for academic success. Students from nearby schools come here to worship very diligently. Come here, those who believe may as well bow down to the Heavenly Queen. If you don't have the corresponding faith, you can also take photos of buildings with the mood of a tourist.                                                                                            Travel  tips
