Qingyuan Mountain is located in the northern suburbs of Quanzhou City, commonly known as "Beishan". The main scenic area is 3 kilometers away from the city center of Quanzhou, and transportation is very convenient.
Qingyuan Mountain is the first 5A level scenic spot in Quanzhou and can be considered a landmark attraction of Quanzhou. The mountain is not high, so there is no need to treat the itinerary of Qingyuan Mountain as a hiking trip. It may be more appropriate to describe it as leisure exercise.
According to the Quanzhou Prefecture Annals, Qingyuan Mountain was developed during the Qin Dynasty. During the Tang Dynasty, the "Confucian, Taoist, and Buddhist" schools competed to occupy and operate the area, so there are various old relics of the "Confucian, Taoist, and Buddhist" schools in the scenic area that can be experienced one by one.
The highlight of the entire mountain is the Laojun Rock located at the foot of the mountain, which is a sculpture of Laozi. It is vividly carved and has a history of thousands of years.
There is also the Hongyi Master Relic Pagoda in Qingyuan Mountain Scenic Area, which has a deep connection with southern Fujian and is located here. Inside the pagoda, there is a tearful ink painting by Mr. Feng Zikai on the wall, and in front of the pagoda, there is the master's posthumous ink painting "The Intersection of Sorrow and Joy".
The cultural landscape of Qingyuan Mountain is superior to the natural landscape. There are many ancient cliff carvings here, and you can follow the map one by one to find the ancient people's "visit here".
In addition to enjoying the cultural landscape and hiking for exercise, the charm of Qingyuan Mountain is not limited to that. Drinking tea and eating and drinking at the top of the mountain are also unique pleasures. There are many places to rest and make tea during the mountain climbing journey. You can stop and have some tea to slowly taste the Minnan culture. It's a pleasure to brew tea on the mountain and enjoy the scenery while sipping tea.
There is a lake called Tianhu on the mountaintop, where you can enjoy local farmhouse restaurants. The prices of these restaurants are not expensive and the taste is good. When it's almost dark, there are still people eating barbecue on the mountain, which is said to be a common way of life among the locals.
Additionally, from the mountaintop, one can also overlook the ancient city of Quanzhou from top to bottom.
