Qinhuangdao City, abbreviated "Qin" and also known as the Port City, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Hebei Province. It is a Type II large city located in North China and northeastern Hebei Province, bordering the Bohai Sea to the south, the Yanshan Mountains to the north, Liaoning to the east, and Beijing and Tianjin to the west. Situated at the junction of the North China and Northeast China economic zones and in the heart of the Bohai Rim Economic Circle, it is a key functional area of the Capital Economic Circle and one of the first coastal open cities. Designated by the State Council as an important node city in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, a modern marine city, and a national comprehensive transportation hub, Qinhuangdao is a national coastal tourism destination. As of 2024, Qinhuangdao City will comprise four districts and three counties, with a land area of 7,802 square kilometers, a sea area of 1,805 square kilometers, and a permanent population of 3.1114 million.
