Namtso Lake


Namtso, meaning: Heavenly Lake in Tibetan, is one of the three sacred lakes in Tibet. Namtso vast area, is in addition to the Qinghai Lake in China's second largest saltwater lake. Lake southwest of the rolling snow-capped mountains is Nyingchi-Tanggula mountains, wind and sunshine, the towering snow-capped mountains reflected in the lake, seems serene and peaceful.

Namtso in the Mongolian language means: Tengri Sea, is said to be the Tantric Buddha Shengle Vajra's dojo, is a well-known holy place of Tibetan Buddhism. From Dangxiong County out, over an altitude of 5,190 meters of the Na Gen La pass, far from the blue water can be seen that piece of water. The lake has a left and a right two side by side boulders, is Namtso's welcome stone, also known as the husband and wife stone, the legend is Namtso's door god.
