Yuefei Temple in Zhuxian Town, commonly known as Yuewang Temple, is located 22 kilometers south of Kaifeng City. The Yuefei Temple was first built in the 16th year of the Ming Dynasty's Chenghua reign. It is collectively known as one of the four major Yuefei temples in China, along with the Yuefei Temples in Tangyin, Wuchang, and Hangzhou, and is renowned both domestically and internationally.
According to legend, Zhuxian Town was the hometown of Zhu Hai, a righteous hero of the Wei state during the Warring States period, and became one of the four famous towns in the country during the Ming and Qing dynasties. In the early years of the Southern Song Dynasty, the anti Jin hero Yue Fei led his troops to a great victory over Jin Wuzhu here.
The Yuefei Temple once attracted historical figures such as Yu Qian, Emperor Qianlong, Yang Chengwu, and Zhu Muzhi to come and pay their respects. The mountain gate, the front screen wall, and the statue of "Five Traitors Kneeling Loyal" have been repaired.
