Baogong Temple, located by Baogong Lake in the southwest of Kaifeng City, is a temple built to commemorate the Qing official Bao Zheng. Since the Jin and Yuan dynasties, there has been a Baogong Temple in Kaifeng, and the current Baogong Temple was rebuilt in the 1980s.

The Baogong Temple in Kaifeng has a small area and is a group of ancient buildings in the style of the Song Dynasty. It consists of buildings such as the main hall, the second hall, the east and west side halls, the half wall corridor, and the stele pavilion. Tourists can see a bronze statue of Duke Bao, which is over 3 meters high, inside the main hall. The bronze statue of Duke Bao is adorned with a python robe and crown, sitting upright with a straight collar. On both sides of the statue are displayed historical relics and classics that reflect the true life and integrity of Duke Bao.
The second hall displays the poems of Duke Bao's career aspirations, the inscriptions and steles of Kaifeng Prefecture, the family motto of Duke Bao, his calligraphy and handwriting, and epitaphs. The Kaifeng Prefecture Inscription Stele bears the names and dates of the 183 Kaifeng Prefects who served in the year 148 of the Northern Song Dynasty. There is a deep indentation under the name of Duke Bao, which is the result of people pointing and whispering under his name over time when viewing the inscription.
In the east and west halls of the temple, the legends, anecdotes, and historical stories of Duke Bao are displayed in a visual and textual form. The group wax figure of the East Hall, "The Case of the Condor Heroes," is highly favored by tourists. It is life sized, brightly colored, and lifelike.
Some of the historical relics displayed in the temple are replicas, while the authentic ones have been transferred to the museum. There is a tour guide service point next to the ticket office. If needed, you can ask a tour guide to explain here (for a fee).
