Mounigou Scenic Area is located on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, in the mountainous valley area 15 kilometers west of Songpan County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It has an altitude of 2800-4250 meters and an average annual temperature of 7 degrees Celsius. It is a geological museum of various natural landscapes mainly formed by karst processes in the world's rare high-altitude mountainous areas. The calcified deposits in the scenic area have various shapes, and with later geological transformation, many types of calcified landforms have been formed.
What to see
The scenic area consists of two parts: Zhaga Gully and Erdao Trench. The landscape of the scenic area integrates calcified waterfalls, circular pool waterfalls, plateau karst lakes, stalactites, caves, calcified remains, primitive forests, alpine meadows, sulfur hot springs, precious flora and fauna, as well as Tibetan Buddhist temples and unique Tibetan village customs. It is known for its five wonders of "waterfalls, lakes, hot springs, stalactites, and folk customs".
Zhaga Waterfall
Zhaga Waterfall Scenic Area has a total length of 2 kilometers and 16 scenic spots, mainly featuring waterfall clusters of various shapes, sizes, heights, and widths, with each waterfall cascading through the forest. Among them, Zhaga Waterfall has a drop height of 104 meters and a width of 35-40 meters, making it the world's largest waterfall with a calcium carbonate layer drop.

The upstream is a lake, and the downstream is a series of stepped riverbeds, which rise and fall through three steps, forming huge splashes of water.

The sound of the waterfall is like thunder, heard from ten miles away. There is a cave under the waterfall, and two smaller caves on the side, shaped like skylights, with a waterfall entering the cave. Here, it usually tak 2-3 hours visiting.
Erdaohai Scenic Spot
About 10 km away from Zhaga Waterfall, Erdaohai is a typical sunken lake. Due to the distribution of many underground caves around the lake, the lake water communicates with other lakes through the caves. The water surface appears flat like a mirror, but the bottom of the lake is shrouded in mysterious undercurrents.

In summer, sometimes the seawater roars, forming huge eddies. If a long tree is placed on the water surface, it will be sucked in and disappear without a trace. The sea is clear and shallow, and there are plenty of fish swimming in it; The sea is a deep pool, with a dark blue color and unfathomable depth. The lake water changes colors with different seasons, complementing the colorful calcareous rock layers on the lake shore. Here, it will takes about 3-4 hours for visiting.
