South Song Imperial Street

South Song Street.jpg

The South Song Imperial Street was originally the central axis of Lin'an City, the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty. Later, it was designed and renovated by architect Wang Shu, who restored the old houses and added a flowing landscape, making it today's lively and quaint commercial street. The section from Gulou to Xihu Avenue is the main tourist area of the Southern Song Dynasty Imperial Street.

Although many chain stores have settled in this old street, there are still many local specialty old shops preserved here, such as Wanlong Ham Village and Yangtang Restaurant. The Southern Song Dynasty Imperial Street Museum, Xiaofeng Bookstore, Hangzhou's larger mosque Phoenix Temple, and Phoenix Temple Halal Restaurant are also located on the Southern Song Dynasty Imperial Street.
