Puning Temple

Puning Temple, commonly known as the Great Buddhist Temple, is located in the north of Chengde Mountain Resort and is the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in northern China. The temple was built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and was a Tibetan Buddhist temple constructed by Emperor Qianlong for the Mongolian nobles of the alliance. The entire temple building is magnificent and exquisite, and visitors can come to visit and take photos. Many high monks have visited and blessed the temple, and it is also very good to come here for blessings.

The scale of Puning Temple is very large, with a depth of about 250 meters and a width of about 130 meters. It takes about 2 hours to walk and visit inside the temple. The architecture of the temple is very unique. The front yard is all Han style buildings. There are traditional Chinese mountain gate, Tianwang Hall, side hall, the Shakya ManiHall and other buildings. The back yard is a typical Tibetan building. Centered on the magnificent Mahayana Pavilion, there are a group of buildings that imitate the famous Sangye Temple in Xizang. Here you can see Tibetan buildings with white walls and red roofs, and you can visit and take photos.

Entering the temple, one can pray for blessings in various halls, usually requiring a payment of several tens of yuan for incense offerings. It is worth entering the temple to see the Thousand Armed Thousand Eyed Guanyin located in the center of the backyard Mahayana Pavilion. The Guanyin statue is about 30 meters high and is the largest wooden Buddha statue in the world. It is particularly precious and spectacular, and must be visited and worshipped.

In addition, on the east side of the hall of Puning Temple, there is Puyou Temple, which is an affiliated temple of Puning Temple. It is located inside Puning Temple and the admission ticket is also included in the Puning Temple admission ticket, which can be visited on foot.
