Dual Pagoda Mountain

In the mountains southwest of Chengde, there are two huge rock pillars standing shoulder to shoulder, resembling pagodas, with one brick pagoda on each peak, hence the name Shuangta Mountain. On the rock pillar, there is an artificially constructed brick tower, which is said to be a tomb tower from the Liao Dynasty. It has a history of thousands of years and is an ancient building still existing in the Chengde area. Now there is a cloud ladder built next to the tower, which can be climbed up. There are also landscapes such as the Three Immortals Temple, the Seven Treasures Tower, the Lingfeng Ancient Garden, and cliff carvings on the mountain. The brick tower on the southern peak faces south, with a height of over 5 meters, a square shape, and a side length of more than 2 meters. The door is about 1.5 meters high and 1.3 meters wide, with wooden posts at the four corners, iron bars protruding out, and copper bells hanging on top. The east, west, and south walls are paved with green bricks, while the north wall has straight joints. Before 1976, the cracks on the north wall were relatively large, with a width of about 20 centimeters. After the Tangshan earthquake, the brick tower not only did not collapse, but the cracks also merged together, which was very miraculous.
