Kashgar Climate

Kashgar Prefecture is located in the heart of Central Asia and, constrained by its geographical environment, belongs to the warm temperate continental arid climate zone. The region experiences four distinct seasons, long hours of sunshine, significant annual and daily temperature variations, very little rainfall, and high evaporation rates. Summers are hot, but the heatwave is short; winters are not severely cold, but the cold period is long; spring and summer often bring strong winds, sandstorms, and dust storms. Due to its complex topography and significant climatic differences, it can be broadly divided into five regions: the Kashgar Plain climate zone, the desert climate zone, the mountain and hilly climate zone, the Pamir Plateau climate zone, and the Kunlun Mountains climate zone.
